I’m really bad about getting an idea in my head and then not executing my idea. I stew on an idea and assume that I will eventually get around to it, but most of the time I let life get in the way. If you think about something enough, it’s kinda like really doing it! Right?
I wish! I am trying to get better about actually making my ideas happen. Lately this means just going for it. No planning, just doing it! Planning + two boys ages four and two don’t go so well together! (Ask my San Antonio friends who have had me cancel a bajillion trips to see them due to illnesses!)
Last night just going for it actually worked! My husband and I have some friends who live right by an old barn and beautiful, rusty silos. I’ve been telling them since they moved into their new house months ago that I want to take their photos there. We just haven’t been able to make it happen.
I knew I wouldn’t be able to take family photos like I wanted, but when my husband told me he was going to our friends’ house to help with boat repairs, I tagged along with my camera bag hoping our friends’ two beautiful daughters would be up for an impromptu photo session.
Lucky me! The girls were up for it! Photos were a challenge since I had my 2 and 4 year old boys and the 8 and 10 year old girls alone, fading light and a small window of time before the guys needed us back at the house. We captured some splendid images anyway! I’m thrilled to share them! I learned a new way of editing photos too. Let me know what you think!
