In case you missed my last maternity post, The Peace in Pregnancy, now that I will never be pregnant again, I feel much differently about pregnancy. I can’t help it, but when I see a pregnant mama, it takes everything in me not to beg her to let me take her pictures. I promise I’m not looking to make money, I just feel very strongly that this is such a special time in your life that needs to be captured in photos.
This lovely mama-to-be was kind enough to give in to my request to take her photos. I was nervous about asking, but thankfully she wasn’t annoyed and was willing to be my model. She was patient as we hunted for spots to shoot at and as we determined the best positions for sitting and standing. I am also very thankful for the kind, constructive criticism she offered afterwards. I’ll be a stronger photographer because of those tips.
While I still have room for improvement, I was very pleased how these photos turned out. I’m very sentimental so one of my favorite parts of this shoot was the location this mommy chose. We started off at a park near her house where she often takes walks with her two little boys. I’m so glad this sweet girl will be able to look at these photos and see herself in her mama’s adorable belly on her mama’s stomping ground. Once we exhausted that spot, we moved down the road to some beautiful spots on, my personal favorite, the water! If there is water nearby, you betcha I am shooting by it!
I’m sure in 20 years or so when this sweet little girl is all grown up, she’ll thank her mama for taking these pictures. I also know she’ll be in awe of how beautiful her mommy was while pregnant with her. I am going to beg here, please take photos of that beautiful belly you have! If it’s not with me, choose someone! You and your child will appreciate it later!
